Refinancing was something like The Old Man and the Sea except for the solitude and the sharks. After an epic educational journey, we landed a sizable marlin. Here are the stats:

✓ paid off our secondary mortgage
✓ savings of $85,000 over the life of the loan
✓ our monthly payments remain roughly the same
✓ we now co-own our home
✓ excel is newly navigable terrain for me
