It is helping me to remember natural laws right now. Our universe is a closed system where material cannot ultimately be destroyed or created, only transformed.
Having helped usher in an era of intense change on the planet, my faith in nature's regenerative powers is central to my resiliency as a person and my capacity to find a measure of peace.
Because, while I grieve that humanity took a brilliant set up --biodiversity, beauty, and interconnections galore-- and flushed it down the toilet, I am not fundamentally attached to the survival of our species no matter how marvelous we can be (and we can be quite marvelous as Samuel Fosso reminds us).
I am perfectly happy to be recycled and serve the whole in another form, wondrous and unfathomable, when the world sees fit to transform me once again.
